I'm also on the Ranger-EV mailing list where some of the topic has been
about making range extenders for our trucks. Attempts at using modern
generators have not been successful because they don't create a clean enough
sine wave for the charger, which shuts down to protect itself against the
dirty signal. There are certainly solutions, but count on the extra effort
to solve that problem.
